Create a Configuration Group for every application you need to manage. You can define per Configuration Group which access rights are required to manage the contained data. Please find more information about restricting access under Access Restriction.

You can also choose per Configuration Group if you need to control the validity of your configuration data by date, with a version and or with a context. You can also decide which attributes are mandatory and which are optional.

See with one look when a Configuration Group was last changed, how many different Keys and Values are contained in a Configuration Group.
